The Facts

  • Over 4000 children are homeless in Washington County each year.
  • Most homeless women and children have been victims of domestic violence.
  • Adequate education, support and financial assistance are necessary to break the cycle of poverty, violence, and homelessness.

The Program
HopeSpring families are encouraged and supported in their efforts to become financially self-sufficient; strengthen family relationships; help their children prepare to live productive lives while remaining free from drugs and alcohol and safe from domestic violence.

HopeSpring serves women with children who are victims of domestic violence, in recovery from substance abuse, and/or are homeless.

Each Family Receives 12 Months Of:

  • Rental Assistance
  • Intensive Case Management
  • Childcare Assistance
  • Parenting and Life Skills Classes
  • Drug and Alcohol Relapse Prevention
  • Mental Health Care (as needed)
  • Emergency Financial Assistance

HopeSpring Families Speak Out

When I wanted to turn my life around, it was a blessing that you were there to help. It’s a miracle that I’ve been clean and sober for two years, have a job and am raising my two kids.
- Mary

Addiction, domestic violence, and homelessness are all very isolating conditions. Working together and being there for one another allows the members of this program to establish connections that offer tremendous support for the day-to-day struggles.
- Molly

The program was there for me at a time in my life when I not only needed such support - but also at a time when I was willing to work at making some major life changes.
- Amanda

Being a single parent, and a woman in recovery, will always have it’s ups and downs - but it’s a great advantage to know there are people who care, and are willing to help and support someone who is serious about having a better life.
- Tammy

When I wanted to turn my life around ,it was a blessing that you were there to help. It’s a miracle that I’ve been clean and sober for two years, have a job and am raising my two kids.
- Mary

For the first time I’m living a life that I cherish.
- Jennifer

HopeSpring has been serving homeless women and children for seven years, thanks to the funding provided by:

  • Government Contracts
  • Foundation Grants
  • United Way
  • Generous gifts from churches, businesses, organizations and individuals

We invite the community to join us in helping those who are ready to help themselves. To continue to expand service to homeless women and children in Washington County, HopeSpring will require the support of both individuals and the business community.

Would you like to help?

We’re looking for generous, community-minded people and organizations who would be willing to pay the cost of the HopeSpring program for one family, for one day, one week, or one month. If you’d like to talk about this, please contact the Program Manager Judy Werner at (503) 924-2449 or by e-mail at hopespring@lcsnw.org.
