Elderly Project
Refugee Resettlement Assistance

The mission of the Elderly Project is to provide refugees and their families with bilingual and culturally appropriate information, advocacy, and referrals to local resources in accessing Refugee Resettlement Assistance services in Clark County. This service is designed to help refugees who are unable to access service on their own and have no support system to assist them. The ultimate goal is for the individual to become more self-reliant and to ensure he or she has the tools necessary to move towards self-sufficiency.

Through the Elderly Project, clients are referred to appropriate services, such as:

  • Energy Assistance Program
  • Vancouver Housing Authority
  • Washington Basic Health
  • Washington Telephone Assistance Program
  • Medical Transportation
  • Northwest Justice Project
  • Other resources, as needed

A staff member makes follow-up inquiries to ensure that clients have received complete and quality service.
