Pre-Adoption Consultation

Individuals and couples have many options for creating a family: international adoption, domestic infant adoption, artificial insemination, foster care and foster-adoption. LCS offers low cost short-term consultation for families seeking to clarify the option that is right for them.

Home Study Services

All adoptions require that an assessment of the prospective applicant(s) be completed and submitted to the court for review. This report is referred to as the “home study.” The process consists of a series of interviews and also a walk through of your home. You will also be asked to submit references, a physical and proof of your financial ability to care for a child. Part of the home study process is providing you with information/training on adoption issues. These issues include the importance of understanding the child’s birth history, birth family connections, and preparation for any special needs the child may have.

LCS is located in Seattle and offers home study services for individuals in King and Snohomish County. Our home study services include domestic adoptions, foster adoptions, as well as step-parent and partner adoptions.
