Although professionally successful for most of her life, Monica had recently seen her career take a turn, and she found herself in a dead-end job that was neither challenging nor interesting.  She was not where she wanted to be and was frustrated with herself.  That was when she turned to LCS’ Life Coaching program.  “I was hoping that, through coaching, I might understand what was holding me back,” she recalls. 

Monica was one of the very first people to be served by one of our agency’s newest initiatives – Professional Life Coaching.  The focus of this new agency-wide program is helping people overcome barriers and self-imposed limitations to live the lives they were meant to live.

“Coaching is amazing in that it seems so simple and the insights, once revealed, seem so obvious,” Monica emphasizes.  “We all have blind spots and unhealthy practices that keep us from being our best.  A coach with a gentle manner, insightful questions, active listening, flexibility, and the right tools can bring them to light.  My coach helped me see things I had never seen before and gave me ways to move forward positively.”

Coaching can address not only major life goals, but everyday challenges as well:

• Life is changing so fast that you can't focus
• Your work responsibilities are so all-encompassing that your family and relationships are suffering
• No matter how many resolutions you make, you can't seem to stick with them

Not only is Life Coaching unique to LCS, in terms of its focus, but it is also the first agency-wide program accessible to anyone across the Northwest and beyond.  All of our Coaching Team members offer coaching by phone, and many by instant messaging and e-mail.  Many also offer face-to-face coaching.

LCS currently has 14 specially-trained Life Coaches, based in many of our offices across the Northwest – from Spokane to Klamath Falls to Bremerton.  The members of our Coaching Team come from diverse social services and business backgrounds, but all bring expertise, understanding, passion and energy to their work - helping each of their clients reach their goals and create their best life.  To see profiles of our coaches, click here.
