LCS programs in communities across Washington, Oregon and Idaho were able to reach out to serve even more of our neighbors in need, thanks to a distribution of funds during the just-completed 2006/07 fiscal year from the Lutheran Community Services Northwest Foundation.
A total of $21,080 in Foundation funds was distributed in the 2006/2007 fiscal year, helping to support:
- Grief counseling for children and teens in Astoria
- Expressive Art Therapy programs for children and Alzheimer’s patients in Boise
- Counseling services for the uninsured and underinsured in the Columbia Basin
- Services to immigrants in the North Puget Sound area
- Services to the Somali Bantu community provided by Multicultural Community Services
- The Care Team Ministry congregational volunteer program in the South Puget Sound area
This funding for LCS services comes from the earnings from the assets administered by the Foundation. The Foundation’s funds are the result of bequests, planned gifts and endowment gifts made to the agency by generous donors who have made a decision to help ensure the financial stability of the agency for years to come as members of the Circle of Hope. |
