Have a Heart for Foster Families
LCS’ Kennewick office joined forces with New Northwest Broadcasters and Wendy’s restaurants across SE Washington and NE Oregon in May to publicize the need for foster homes and raise funds to help local foster children and foster families. Wendy’s locations in the Tri-Cities, Yakima, Walla Walla, Pendleton and LaGrande collected nearly $8,000 in customer donations, which will be used to help local LCS foster families provide extras for children in their care, such as music lessons, outings and sports activities, which are not reimbursed by the state. In addition, New Northwest Broadcasters donated more than 1,000 radio spots on six stations promoting the ongoing need for foster homes in the area.
