| “For a campaign to be successful, it takes involvement and partnership,” stressed co-chairs Frank and Sandy Jennings. “Our campaign was blessed with many partners: churches, local businesses, major corporations, local and national foundations, many government agencies, and a large group of dedicated volunteers. All of these partners, along with our faithful individual donors, led to the success of this undertaking.
“When an organization like Lutheran Community Services has a history of doing good things, and your campaign has a compelling message of more good things to come, then donors respond in extraordinary ways. That was our experience with the campaign, time and time again. Our deep gratitude goes out to the LCS staff, partners, donors and all those who have joined together in bringing this wonderful ‘community’ into being.”
More than 300 individuals and couples stepped forward to make gifts and pledges of support for the project. Major funders included the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, The Kresge Foundation, The Seattle Foundation, The Jeld-Wen Foundation, the Boeing Company and the Employees Community Fund of Boeing Puget Sound.
