A special message from LCS President/CEO Roberta Nestaas
To “Partner”...
Roberta Nestaas photoWhen Lutheran Community Services Northwest drafted its current mission statement, someone told me you couldn’t use “partner” as a verb.  We chose to use it anyway because no other word came close to describing the relationship we were seeking with individuals, families, and communities.

A sacred partnership is the one we share with our clients - a mutual relationship in the journey of healing, wholeness, and hope.  However, in our latest online newsletter, we focus on the incredible results that come from key community partnerships.  These relationships have resulted in funding, foster parents, and new services.

At our spring Dedication and Open House for the Village at Angle Lake in SeaTac Washington, it was my privilege to introduce the partners that made this new intergenerational campus possible.  The dream began through a partnership with the ELCA but grew to include the City of SeaTac, King County, LATCH, Easter Seals, Community Health Centers, and the many businesses, foundations, and individuals who contributed to the capital campaign.  In fact, the campaign was named “Called to Community, Called to Care” because these words most represented our vision.

Our faith teaches us that we are mutually dependent and connected through the body of Christ.  At Lutheran Community Services Northwest we endeavor to practice that connectivity by partnering with the communities we serve.
