 "The More the Merrier!” could have been this year’s motto for our annual Spring Brunch, held Sunday, March 14th, at Tacoma’s Landmark Theater. This year’s event was our largest yet, with over 375 guests and a 'landmark' in fundraising as well! Thank you to all of our sponsors, table hosts, guests, and volunteers.
The theme for the event was “Journeys to Joy,” and what a joy it was to see so many supporters join us on a lovely March afternoon. Along with festive sparkling cider and champagne, a delicious meal and engaging fellowship, guests were treated to an educational and fun presentation of “tweets” made by volunteers and staff members from each of the six vital programs our agency provides in the Tacoma area.
Care Team Ministries leaders were recognized as a group with this year's Briehl Award, honoring the memory of the Rev. John Briehl. Their work has been recognized by interfaith circles and received by hundreds of people within the community.
The “piéce de résistance” was a gospel hymn sung by our multi-talented Administrative Assistant, Nikiesha Thornton and her daughter, Jasmyn.
It was a joyous event, celebrating the current work and powerful legacies each of our volunteers, staff and community supporters provide. Because of the generosity of our banquet sponsors, all donations from the event directly benefit programs in the South Puget Sound area.
