Making the most of a snowy morning, hearts were warmed with fellowship as 340 LCS supporters gathered at the Landmark’s Temple Theatre in Tacoma. The event raised over $62,000 to support LCS programs, including the featured program, Caregiver University.
Reverend Ron and Nancy Vignec received the Briel Award for their years of service to the agency. Although Nancy was unable to attend, a life-sized cardboard cut-out took her place as Area Council member Kathy Falk read a statement of thanks and encouragement from Nancy.
Bishop Robert Hofstad, our Master of Ceremonies, introduced Caregiver University program manager Pat Witt, the afternoon’s featured speaker. Pat emphasized that everyone is a caregiver at some point in life, and we all need resources and education to know how best to care when called to do so.
Stadium High School senior and PLU-bound John Marzano wowed attendees with his award-winning tenor solo, "How Great Thou Art" and provided a heart-felt benediction singing, "The Lord's Prayer."
Thanks so much to our generous sponsors and gracious givers for helping make our brunch such a success!
