| The DoubleTree Hotel - SeaTac Airport was the venue for our North Puget Sound Fall Banquet on October 4th. Guests enjoyed engaging fellowship during the Social Hour in the Grand Ballroom, followed by a delicious dinner and an inspirational program.
Roberta Nestaas, LCS President/CEO and Janet St. Clair, North Puget Sound Area Director, updated the audience on the work of the agency across the Northwest and in the North Puget Sound area, specifically. The highlight of the evening was an inspirational story from Patrick D'Amelio, a single foster parent who adopted two children through our Permanency Planning program. |

| Pastor Erik Kindem, from Peace Lutheran Church, West Seattle, was our eloquent Master of Ceremonies. To the delight of everyone, Pastor Erik and his wife Chris closed the evening by singing the Benediction. Carol Nilson, a recent LCS retiree, was honored for over 24 years of outstanding service. Having started as a volunteer, Carol helped to coordinate the first computerized donor records system, becoming an invaluable member of the Accounting and Development teams.
All in all, it was a delightful event, celebrating the current work of staff, volunteers and community supporters, and the challenges that lie ahead in our attempt to expand and strengthen the services in Western Washington. Thanks to the generosity of our banquet sponsors and donors, more than $87,000 was raised to help support the 12 programs serving the North Puget Sound area. Our sincere thanks to all of the tireless volunteers, willing guest speakers, and bighearted sponsors and donors for helping us to reach our fundraising goal! |
