Friends of LCS from throughout the Spokane area gathered at Mukogawa Fort Wright Commons on October 11th for our annual fund-raising luncheon. Our turn-out this year was very strong, an encouraging surprise during these challenging economic times. A special thanks to our wonderful table hosts who worked extra hard this year in encouraging folks to come learn about and support our agency’s services.
Robyn Nance of KXLY TV once again served as our M.C. Sam Mazzola, and his son Caleb provided wonderful music, and the meal was delicious! We heard from LCS President/CEO Roberta Nestaas, and Regional Vice President Dennis McGaughy. Both Roberta and Dennis focused on the Journeys to Joy we all experience in our lives, and how Lutheran Community Services helps those in need on their journeys. We learned about the work LCS does with victims of violent crime in a pulse-stopping presentation from our own Jenn Davis-Nielsen, and volunteer advocate Dena Strasser.
Thanks so much to our generous sponsors and gracious givers for helping make our luncheon such a success!
For those who were not able to join us, gifts to support LCS are gratefully accepted year-round. A quick, easy way to give is possible on our Online Donation Page. Use the pull-down menu to designate your gift to the Spokane office. |
