6th Annual Lutheran Community Services Golf Classic
Indian Canyon Golf Course hosted the 2010 Lutheran Community Services Northwest Golf Classic 2010 on September 10th at. The scramble format tournament, began at 7:30am - despite the chilly dip in temperature. We had 109 golfers come out for a great day of golf.
Many area congregations formed teams. St. Mark's Lutheran Church lead the charge with 4 teams and St. Paul Lutheran traveled the farthest from Colville to play with 2 teams.
Prizes were awarded to the top three teams:
- First place went to Paul Bruggemeier, Gary Dahlke and Seth Janke, winning a Play & Stay Package at Palouse Ridge Golf Course and the Holiday Inn in Pullman.
- Second place went to Scott & Roxane Cook, Shawn Phelps and Chuck Southerly, winning a round of golf for four at Columbia Point Golf Course in Richland and gift cards to Wide World of Golf.
- Third place was awarded to Mike, Kay and Andy Robbins and Keith MacGeagh.
Prizes were also awarded for Men’s Longest Drive, Women’s Longest Drive, Straightest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Chipping and Putting Contests.
A HUGE thank you goes to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans as our title sponsor and supporter. Over one-quarter of the golfers and most all of our volunteers were Thrivent members! We are also thankful for our media sponsors - Positive Life Radio, KXLY-TV 4 and KXLY Radio 920AM and ESPN for helping to promote the event. Riverview Retirement Community and the family of Dick Davis generously sponsored our On-Course contests.
Thank you to all our participants, sponsors, donors and volunteers who helped to raise $14,000 to benefit Lutheran Community Services' Sexual Assault & Family Trauma (SAFeT) Response Center. Thank you for supporting our efforts to deliver the highest quality of service to our community, and providing new opportunities of hope to those who turn to our agency in their time of need.
