Chocolate and Champagne Gala - 2011
Over 400 people attended one of the “best fundraising events” in Spokane – the Lutheran Community Services’ 27th Annual Chocolate & Champagne Gala, held on Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Mirabeau Park Hotel.
Guests were greeted with champagne by Mountain Dome Winery and the ballroom was filled with chocolates, confections, desserts and coffee selections donated in full from Spokandy, Halletts Chocolates, 4 Seasons Coffee, Bloems, Bruttles, Celebrations Cookie & Cupcake Boutique, Coeur d’Alene Chocolates, Europa Pizzaria and Bakery, J. Walk Bakery & Bistro, Marsell’s Cakes & Desserts, Marzipan Confections, MJ’s Chocolate Fantasy, Roast House Coffee, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Sweet Dreams Bakery. The Mirabeau Park Hotel provided fabulous appetizers and our signature Chocolate Martinis in souvenir glasses. We paused briefly for a presentation and a moving personal account from Shelly Monahan, one of our Emcees from KHQ. After Silent Auctions, Live Auction and raffles, guests enjoyed dancing to music provided by the 8 Tracks. The event was an incredible success, raising over $70,000 to benefit LCS’ Sexual Assault and Family Trauma Center (SAFeT), providing advocacy, support and education for victims of violent crime and sexual assault.
