The Southern Idaho Banquet was held on Saturday October 15th at the BanBury Country Club in Eagle.  The day produced a warm Indian summer evening and guests enjoyed wine on the patio overlooking the wonderful 18-hole golf course.  Alex Sjobeck, a senior at Arts West Charter School, played for the social time.  She is an amazing jazz pianist.  BanBury’s five-star service rounded out the elegance of the evening. 

The master of ceremonies for the evening’s program was Chris Wagner, youth minister at King of Glory Lutheran Church.  LCS President/CEO Roberta Nestaas spoke on the 10-year anniversary of Lutheran Community Services Northwest and the looking toward the future, promoting the mission of health, justice and hope for all people.

Charlotte Combe recognized members of Hope Lutheran Church who volunteered to teach Positive Action at North Star Charter School. In accordance with the theme she highlighted one of the new program Prevention/Intervention Towards No Drugs being developed to launch in early February.  Laurie Jo Kark highlighted Community Bridges with a power point presentation.  This will be the second new program we are launching this year.

Guest speaker Bob St. Clair and Pastor Mike Sager spoke on their volunteer teaching of Positive Action at North Star Charter School.  Bob spoke on how frightening teaching Positive Action is for him, it has transform his life, maybe more then the students he teaches.  Pastor Mike spoke on the how Positive Action works and how it changes our mindset and how we choose to react at any given time in any given situation, “we always have choices and responsibility in life every day.”
 
Terry Pappin and friends brought the evening to a close.
