Tuesday, June 20th: ARTvocacy ~ Celebrate World Refugee Day Through Art - Seattle

Join us and partners Jewish Family Service and International Rescue Committee for the 12th Annual ARTvocacy! Meet first and second-generation refugees who share their stories through art. Enjoy one-of-a-kind artwork created by these talented individuals in our community. Mingle with artists and guests while enjoying light refreshments.

World Refugee Day is an annual day of commemoration, celebrating the strength and resilience of refugee communities, while recognizing current struggles faced by refugee populations. World Refugee Day serves to educate individuals around the world about refugee issues, and what it takes to be truly supportive of displaced populations.

June 22, 23 and 24, 2017: Family Dinner ~ Cook for Syria, Fundraiser for Refugees - Seattle

Join us in Seattle for a family-style dinner party! Our hosts at The Pantry have created a flavorful Syrian menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and accompanied by local wine. This unique event is a benefit for LCS Northwest’s Refugee and Asylum Services.  Limited seating. $130 per person.

Thursday, June 29th: Taste of the World - Seattle

Join us in celebrating World Refugee Day with a Taste of the World on Thursday, June 29th! From 6:30-9:30 PM, we will delight your taste buds with homemade dishes from all over the globe, move you with performances from the Congolese Women's Choir and Jafra Dabke Dance Team, inspire you with powerful stories from our refugee clients, and motivate you to action with our big reveal.

If you have been wondering how you can help support refugees and asylum seekers in our area, there is no better time than now to come find out! Lutheran Community Services Northwest's Refugee and Asylum Programs has been serving refugees in our area for 35 years and is poised to help more people than ever seek safety, hope and a new life in our country. We invite you to come help make this possible!

This will be a celebration to remember, and seating is limited. Tickets are FREE, but RSVPs are required (click here to save a seat for yourself or for a whole table)! If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation to help support this life-saving work.

Saturday, August 5th: 8 Lakes Leg Aches Bike Ride

Join over 800 riders for one of the best cycling events in Eastern Washington, touring scenic landscapes between Spokane, Medical Lake and Cheney. Riders of all abilities have 3 routes to choose from: a leisurely 30-mile ride or more challenging 45-mile & 75-mile treks. There’s a ride for all levels of ability!

Saturday, August 19th: Reform: Ride for Refugees

Reform: Ride for Refugees is a benefit ride in Kitsap County for people who love to ride their bikes and care about refugees. Choice of 50 mile, 50K, and 10 "ish" mile rides through beautiful Kitsap County (Bremerton, Silverdale, Poulsbo).

All proceeds will benefit two local organizations: Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center and Lutheran Community Services Northwest's Refugee Resettlement Services. If you are also able to bring twin or quit size sheets or blankets we will be collecting these donations for refugee "welcome kits" to be distributed throughout Western Washington.
