Home The Vision The Project Project Update About LCS How To Help
Lutheran Community Services Northwest (LCS) was formed in July 2001 by a merger of Lutheran Social Services of Washington and Idaho with Lutheran Family Service of Oregon and SW Washington. The agency annually serves over 300,000 people of all ages, cultures, and faiths with high quality, compassionate service.

The agency encompasses Washington, Oregon and Idaho with headquarters located in Burien, Washington, and more than 20 local offices servicing communities through the region. After 75 years of service to individuals and families in Washington, Oregon and Idaho, LCS has a strong and impressive record of meeting our clients at their point of need. Services in each region and local community are designed to fill the gaps that are not being presently met by government or other organizations. Through community needs assessment and collaboration, LCS services are tailored to meet specific local needs.

The mission is fulfilled as we serve clients throughout our three-state region:

Providing foster care to a child
Offering counseling services to an individual or family
Helping a refugee family settle into the community
Strengthening families
Providing community support groups
Adoption services in certain foster care situations
Serving the mental health needs of immigrant and refugee families

LCS reaches out to fulfill our mission of partnering with individuals, families and communities for health, justice and hope.
