Volunteers! Where would we be without them? There are hundreds of volunteers associated with the good work of Lutheran Community Services Northwest. So much is accomplished by those who give of their time and talent to benefit the lives of others. We couldn’t do all that we do without such dedicated and caring people.
But wait! It is “give of your time, talent and treasure” that is often quoted. Volunteerism includes financial support of worthy causes as well as the giving of time and talents. Making a contribution is a very personal, voluntary act. The money you contribute is a direct result of the use of your time and talents to make a living. When you give, you are giving a part of yourself to benefit others – that is certainly volunteerism!
Then there are the ultimate volunteers. Who are they? They are the people so concerned with helping others that they make sure the causes they supported while living will continue to be supported even after they are gone. Such a gift is often referred to as “the ultimate gift”.
You can, therefore, be an ultimate volunteer for Lutheran Community Services Northwest by including the agency in your estate plans. Help ensure that our 88-year history of helping people in significant need will continue after your lifetime. Our mission statement declares that LCS “partners with individuals, families and communities for health, justice and hope”. Please join me in being an ultimate volunteer for such critical work as this!
