About The Village at Angle Lake An intergenerational, multicultural village where community happens! |
||
The Village at Angle Lake is a unique community services campus and resource “hub”. In one convenient location, South King County residents can access healthcare, childcare, senior housing, homecare services, immigrant and refugee services, and family resources.
This facility was made possible by the vision and leadership of Lutheran Community Services Northwest (LCS), community and church leaders, and partnering agencies, and by the financial support of many, many individuals, businesses, organizations, congregations, foundations and governments. |
||
| History In 1999, LCS was contacted by the national headquarters of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), offering the opportunity to purchase the church building and four acre site on S. 188th Street where the agency then leased administrative office space. This offer turned out to be a very significant gift from the church as well as an opportunity to dream. Visions began emerging about how this land could be used in future ministry and service. What evolved were partnerships to create a collaborative, intergenerational community resources campus. |

| The Answer The Village at Angle Lake was developed to address South King County’s human services needs and help create an increased sense of community within the City of SeaTac. Many services are offered at minimal cost to the client. Other services, such as childcare and medical care, offer a sliding fee scale based on income. Angle Lake Court provides affordable housing to low- and middle-income seniors. |

The Community Services Building
The Community Services Building is expected to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) through the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED certification emphasizes site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality, resulting in a facility that is considerate of the environment.
